Tranquility Amulet

I made this new piece and it's bringing up a lot of thoughts about these days we're living in. There is so much fear and unrest. Our sense of security withers amidst the downward slide of the Dow and slinging of mud from the right and the left. I remembered that there are more than four directions. There is also above, below, and to me one of the most important, within.

During the beginning of this month I found myself suffering from an STD... Seasonal Transition Disorder, or so I thought. But now I'm imagining that anyone who isn't having some sort of equilibrium issues just isn't in touch or they are Masters of their own Universes. So my creation of more balance and a sense of being grounded has led me to go within and to find my own resources. And with this I have to ask myself the question, so what is the worst thing that could happen. Might our economy collapse? Perhaps. And so we would have to come together and help each other through it, become the neighbors and family that we need each other to be. We'd have to get out our old bicycles and pump up the tires and oil the chain. We'd have to have block pot lucks and share our stone soup. I know, I know, I'm just a dreamer. But like John would say, I'm not the only one.

Anyway, these are some of my thoughts and this is the piece called Tranquility Amulet. Check it out and some of the other pieces that bring a sense of Joy rather than Fear.
